This exciting competition is based on a reality television format featuring entrepreneurs pitching their business ideas in order to secure investment finance from a panel of venture capitalists.
Local versions of the show have been produced in nearly 30 countries, including one for the Arab world. The most popular name for the show is Dragons' Den or variations thereof, a name that originated in the United Kingdom. The show has also been titled Shark Tank (a name that originated in the United States), Lions' Den, and variations on those names, among others. In versions where the name of the show contains a creature's name, the investors are referred to as that creature.
The groups of entrepreneurs will pitch their ideas to the Tigers (Investors) in order to get their product funded. Only the groups that obtain all the requested funding from the investors have the chance to proceed to the next round and will then be judged by the evaluation criteria outlined below.
What to do?
The participants of this competition will create a product/service for a SMART CITY and will be required to develop a business pitch for this new product/service. They will attempt to get their project funded by the Tigers.
