Dr. Adrianne Calfo/Kalfopoulou holds a Ph.D. in American Literature and Culture from Aristotle University, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from New York University, and a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Brown University. She has had over 25 years of teaching and administrative experience in European and American universities. Prior to joining RIT-D in 2021, she held the McGee Professorship in Creative Writing at Davidson College, N.C. Currently she holds the position of Associate Professor of Creative Writing and English in the Department of Sciences and Liberal Arts and RIT-Dubai where she teaches courses in Literature and Creative Writing.

My research and teaching interests are in Poetry, World literature, and Women’s Studies, as well as, more recently, the literature of diasporic and refugee communities.
