On Monday April 4th and Wednesday April 6th, the AI & Robotics Center (AIRC) in the Electrical Engineering department successfully held the ROS Workshop.

Students who participated were required to program an in-house robot called Husarion. This robot is built to learn and develop applications in ROS. It contains the Orbbec Astra RGBD camera, RPLIDAR A2 laser scanner, and CORE2-ROS controller with Asus Tinker Board.

The participants’ task was to use ROS to display the output from the camera and control the movement of the robot using a keyboard.

By the end of this workshop, the participating students were effectively able, with the help and guidance of AIRC members, to display the footage from the camera and move the robot simultaneously.

Congratulations to all those who participated!
