Tunisian Talents United Association organizes its 3rd forum on “Transforming and Innovating with Disruptive Technologies in the MENA Region” in Dubai

Dubai, December 21st, 2019 – Tunisian Talents United Association organized its 3rd Forum on “transforming and innovating with disruptive technologies in the MENA region”. The event took place in Dubai under the patronage of the Tunisian Business Council of Dubai and Northern Emirates and was hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology.

The event brought together experts in digital technologies, entrepreneurs, Start-Ups, representatives from universities, and members of TTU association from various countries across different continents.

The forum was marked by very high level of keynote speakers and panelists and attendees from a world-class young leaders and Tunisian talents.

Mr. Nejib Zaafrani opened the forum by introducing the TTU association and its mission to the audience. He also highlighted the objective of the event. 

The 1st keynote speech was given by Dr. Youssef Al Assaaf, President of Rochester Institute of Technology of Dubai who focused on the role universities are playing to prepare the students for Industry.4 by introducing innovation and new technologies in university programs. His Excellency Dr. Essa Bastaki, President of University of Dubai shared the same view of Dr. Youssef Al Assaaf adding on that new technologies are a trend therefore universities need to invest more in science and knowledge. He also emphasized that education towards disruptive innovation relies on the creation of disruptive education. Both universities presidents covered the topics of the impact of innovation and new technologies and future jobs and where do we stand on innovation related to education. 

The event saw the presence of Melissa Sassi, IBM Start-Up Program manager and IBMZ Influencer who came all the way from the USA to take part of the forum as a keynote speaker. During her speech, Melissa focused on the empowerment of early-stage entrepreneurs through technology and business acceleration.

The program of the 3rd TTU forum included also 3 panels of discussion. The first one was covering disruptive technology (AI, IoT, Big Data) and the 2nd one was around Fintech, Blockchains and Cybersecurity. Some key speakers from various key industries  took part of the panels where they exchanged their views on disruptive technology and innovation and how to address the security part of it. The essential role of government institutions and regulators in establishing an ecosystem, regulations and frameworks was also one of the key topics covered by the panelists. “the culture of change is very important to supersede the transformation’ commented Mrs. Diane R. The 3rd and last panel included brilliant Tunisian young entrepreneurs and start-up founders who presented their projects who share their experiences and highlighted the journey and challenges of entrepreneurs.
