Hey there! Word on the street is that you’re one of the newest members of the RIT Family? Welcome, Tigers! I’m an academic advisor, and just one of the many people at RIT who’s here to help you on your journey to graduation, and beyond! I’m happy to answer a few questions that might be on your mind:
Q: Who will create my fall semester schedule?
A: Before you even step foot on campus, your academic advisor will have put together a preliminary fall schedule comprised of general education and/or program requirements. You’ll get a chance to review your schedule before you arrive for orientation.
Q: Will I have a chance to meet my academic advisor and ask questions before classes start?
A: During Orientation, on Academic Day, you’ll get a chance to officially meet your advisor and put a face with the name. Bring your questions and concerns so we can help alleviate them.
Q: Will I have an academic advisor throughout my entire time at RIT?
A: From the time you start to the time you graduate, your academic advisor will be there to help you navigate from your first courses to graduation. When you’re happy, we’re happy because the best part of an academic advisor’s job is YOU!
Welcome to RIT, and on behalf of all the academic advisors here, we can’t wait to meet you.
