Fast forward to three weeks from now, and you’ll be on campus experiencing RIT as a new student, meeting your Orientation Leader, and meeting new friends!
We know there are many details to remember, so we wanted to provide you a glimpse of what Orientation will look like to help you best prepare for your arrival.
Commuter Orientation
Aug. 17-21, 2021
If you have not yet registered to attend Commuter Orientation, do so now by logging into using your RIT username and password. Registration will close at the end of the week, July 30 at 11:59 p.m. (ET).
On Tuesday, Aug. 17, you will arrive on campus and follow a specific process for Check-in. We have created a Move-In Guide to help detail this information.
- Step 1: Arrive on Campus
Enter RIT at the main entrance off Jefferson Road on to Lomb Memorial Drive. At the roundabout, make your first right and park in G or H Lot. - Step 2: Check-In with Orientation
2-4 p.m.
The Orientation team will check you in for the week at the Campus Center (CPC) Lobby and will provide you with a bag you can use at the Resource Fair and your nametag. You can pick up your ID card at the Office of the Registrar any week day during Orientation between 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. - Step 3: Go to Orientation Events and Attend Commuter Dinner
4:30-6:30 p.m.
You will have the option to attend a number of Orientation events and the Commuter Dinner. If you are bringing your family, you can bring up to two guests and must register them for a ticket (at no cost) when you register for Commuter Orientation. Don’t forget to attend the Welcome to RIT presentation that will be 7-8 p.m. on the day you arrive!
