We can’t wait for you to join us this fall in RIT’s College of Art and Design (CAD).
We can’t wait for you to join us this fall in RIT’s College of Art and Design (CAD). From day one, you will be part of a community of amazing students, faculty, and staff who are creators and innovators!
The Welcome Guide
and New Student Checklist
will guide you through the essential next steps in preparing for your time at RIT. Everything on this checklist is essential for you to complete on time in order to be prepared for the fall semester.
In addition to the main Orientation website,
the College of Art and Design has its own page
that includes information specific to the college and your program of study. Be sure to check the site for resources about required supply lists, technical equipment information, and course scheduling information. This summer your academic advisor will be enrolling you in your fall classes. In order for your advisor to put together your schedule, you must complete the College of Art and Design New Student Survey by July 1.
Through the survey, you will share information with your academic advisor to help them build your fall schedule, including your expected dual enrollment courses, Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) credit; or if you are planning to try out for an athletic team. Please contact CAD Student Services
with any questions.
We are gearing up for a very active and exciting fall semester. You will have the opportunity to engage with visiting artists and guest speakers, attend film screenings, exhibitions, and so much more! Be sure to check out the RIT Events Calendar
as we get closer to the start of the semester. You will be amazed at the amount of opportunities and experiences that await you.
If you enjoy sports, you will have the chance to cheer on our Division I Hockey teams in addition to our Division III athletic teams. We were thrilled to witness our Men’s Lacrosse team clinch its first National Championship at the end of May. And while RIT may not have a football team, we do live in Western New York and are home to the NFL’s Buffalo Bills!
The Bills had quite the run last season and one of our own photo faculty members, Clay Patrick McBride, hung out and photographed the NFL’s top receiver Stefon Diggs for the cover of ESPN.
Incredible experiences like these are always shared on our college’s social media channels. If you haven’t done so already, be sure to connect with your new community of fellow students, faculty, staff and alumni—@RIT_artdesign.
Enjoy your summer. We look forward to meeting you. Go Tigers!
