I would like to extend you a warm welcome to RIT and the College of Liberal Arts. You are joining an engaging college that will help you grow personally and professionally, challenging you with new ways of thinking and seeing the world around you, and imparting the skills you need to find a satisfying and successful career in your chosen field. It is my hope that your academic experiences at RIT will prove to be interesting, challenging, rewarding—and fun!
Before you arrive on campus for New Student Orientation, we will need for you to complete the following:
- Complete the New Student Checklist.
- Your advisor will pre-register you for your fall term classes once you complete the College of Liberal Arts Survey. You must complete this required survey by Friday, July 8.
Academic Day of Orientation week is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 17. You will have an opportunity to:
- Meet students, faculty, and staff in your academic department at the group advising session
- Meet your professional academic advisor who will be available to you throughout your entire RIT career
- Review your plan of study
- Ask any course scheduling questions
If you have any questions as you prepare to join us this fall, please contact us at libarts@rit.edu.
In the meantime, we’re eager to get to know you, and have you get to know us, too. We’ll be hosting a “Meet & Greet” hour with College of Liberal Arts Deans, Academic Advisors, and other staff—and our pets! (Because every virtual meeting is better with animals on screen, right?) Please join us for a casual get-together on Monday, July 11 at 3 p.m. where we can all introduce ourselves and our best four-legged friends. Be sure to include your pet, too—whether it’s a dog, cat, horse, pig, bird, lizard, fish, or pet rock. We can’t wait to meet everyone!

On behalf of the entire College of Liberal Arts community, congratulations on your accomplishments thus far; we cannot wait to welcome you to campus this fall and see what comes next. We’re eagerly looking forward to working with you throughout your time at RIT!
Sincerely,
