Your Fall Semester Course Schedule

You may be wondering about your Fall semester course schedule.

Your primary academic advisor is currently reviewing the information you have provided through the completion of the college survey and Math Placement Exam (if applicable), your submission of final high school transcripts and AP/college credits, etc. They are using this information to build your Fall semester course schedule. Your schedule will be designed to fulfill general education and academic program requirements. In early August, you will be able to view your schedule through the RIT Student Information System (SIS).

You will have the opportunity to meet your primary academic advisor during Academic Day at Orientation. At that time, you will learn more about your academic program and course requirements. You will also have an opportunity during orientation week to discuss any questions or concerns you may have regarding your course schedule and academic plan.

As you prepare for Orientation, refer to our brief guide which explains how to access your schedule and find your academic advisor in SIS.

Keeping You Safe

RIT Public Safety

RIT Alert

RIT Alert is used to immediately notify the campus community if there is an emergency on or near campus. Students will be notified via text message and will be automatically enrolled by using their information that is in our Student Information System (SIS).

Blue Lights

Blue Lights are present throughout RIT's campus. Anywhere you see a blue light there is a phone box connected directly to a Public Safety dispatcher. Use it for emergencies and anytime you need help from Public Safety, like if you want a safety escort to your vehicle, you’ve locked yourself out of your car, etc.

Fun fact - The TigerSafe App allows you to use your phone as an on-the-go Blue Light!

Cameras

Cameras placed around campus monitor activities so that if there’s a crime, Public Safety can act quickly and be by your side in no time!

ID Cards and Building Security

To keep your living and learning spaces secure, you will use your ID card to access many buildings on campus, including residence halls and apartments.

Tigers Care

Not only do we care about your physical safety, but your emotional and mental health as well. Tigers Care is a campus-wide effort to enhance, promote, and sustain a culture of caring and support at RIT. We have an online reporting process that allows you to report a concern about a friend’s well-being or to report an incident.

Emergency Contact Information

Emergencies happen. And when they do, we rely on the contact information that you have provided. Take two minutes to update your parent and emergency contact information in the Student Information System. If you are unable to access the Student Information System, contact the RIT Service Center to report an issue.
