Action Required:

Complete all necessary academic items on the New Student Checklist by Tuesday, June 30, so your academic department can build your fall course schedule.
Email is the main way RIT will communicate important information about your academics and life at RIT. Get in the habit of checking your RIT email frequently. On Wednesday, July 1, we’ll no longer send important RIT email communications, including New Student Newsletters, to your non-RIT email account. Start checking your RIT email often.

As you check those final academic checklist items off your New Student Checklist, it’s time to start thinking ahead.

Academic Calendar

Review the academic calendar now to set yourself up for success this fall. It's more than just a list of dates; it's a valuable resource for planning ahead. Knowing when classes begin (Monday, August 24), when breaks occur, and when finals are scheduled helps you manage your time proactively and stay organized throughout the semester.

College Connections

Throughout Orientation, you will have opportunities to connect with your college and academic environment.

College Connections and other academic programs offered throughout Orientation are designed to help you meet faculty and staff from your college, learn more about your academic program, and get to know other students in your major.

At designated times during Orientation, you can also meet with your academic advisor, who can answer questions about your course schedule, degree requirements, and next steps as you begin your RIT journey.

Tuition Information

Granting Parent Access to eServices

We encourage you to grant your parent or a designated family member access to your eServices account so they may view your financial aid information and receive billing notifications.

Granting parent or third party access:

Log in to eServices
Click on Manage Accounts and then Add A New Account
Enter your parent's or third party’s information and select which areas of eServices they can have access to: financial aid, billing, and grades.

Tuition Refund Insurance

RIT partners with GradGuard to offer optional tuition refund insurance. This coverage helps protect your tuition if an unexpected illness or accident requires you to withdraw from classes.

Getting ready for college is about more than classes. Join current RIT students and staff for a practical College 101 webinar focused on everyday life at RIT, from doing laundry and living with roommates to finding a campus job and staying safe on campus. Open to incoming students and families.
