AWARE-AI: Spring Mentor Café

When: April 10, 2024, 3:00pm–4:00pm
Where: James E. Gleason, Gordon Atrium

Hosted by the AWARE-AI NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) Program in the Golisano Atrium, this Mentor Café event welcomes AWARE-AItTrainees and other RIT graduate students. Participating students will have the opportunity to interact with postdocs and early career researchers in a fun and interactive format.

2024 Graduate Showcase 

April 11, 2024 | 8:45 am–6:30 pm

The presentation schedule for the Graduate Showcase, which will take place on Thursday, April 11th, has been published on the website. View the full list of graduate students presenting their work, including oral presentations and the poster session.

Stop by the 1829 Room and the Fireside Lounge in the Campus Center between 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm to see the art exhibit and poster session and vote for the People's Choice awards for top poster presentations and visual exhibit. Ballots will be available during the event, and the results will be tallied before the awardees are announced during the Keynote and Awards Celebration in Ingle Auditorium from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm.

This year’s keynote is alumnus Sal Pellingra, Vice President of Global Package Design in Applications & Business Development at ProAmpac. The event will honor alumnus Nicholas Conn with this year’s Distinguished Alumni Award.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

The education level of disabled veterans greatly affects their children’s schooling

There is an elaborate bureaucracy in the United States to assist disabled veterans in a variety of ways. In Rochester and more generally in Monroe County, New York, there are several organizations that seek to assist disabled veterans with things like job training, health and wellness, and legal counseling.

The research aims to gain insights into the current challenges and issues faced by drivers using the voice control feature to interact with the car console as well as to explore the interest in gesture control as an alternative interaction method. This study is part of graduate student thesis research conducted by Sanskriti Kumar from GCCIS. Detailed information can be found at the beginning of the survey including your rights as a participant, the purpose, benefits, and confidentiality.

Student Government is hiring! Apply for Graduate Senator

Looking for a passionate, eager student ready to make a positive impact on the 2024-25 Administration

The position above consists of at least a 7-hour per week time commitment.

Some of the minimum 7 hours per week requirements include:
      Office Hours - This is where you sit in our office in the campus center and greet students at the front desk for 3 hours a week.
      Senate - A weekly 2-hour meeting where the important votes and policy changes occur.
      Internal Committee - Just a weekly 1-hour meeting regarding different areas on campus including Accessibility, Housing and Dining, Student Affairs, etc.
      Group Meeting - This weekly 1-hour meeting with all of the other people within your position group (Senators, Committee Chairs, Cabinet, etc.)
