Reading Day Recharge

Where: Hale-Andrews Student Life Center, Lobby

Join us on the Reading Day for some stress-relieving activities in the SLC to get you ready for finals week! We'll have fun fitness contests, yard games, yoga, fitness classes, chair massages, snacks (including a make-your-own healthy snack to take with you!), and t-shirts for the first 200 students!

Detecting digital deception

Today, artificial intelligence is being used to manipulate media. At RIT, a team of student and faculty researchers is leading the charge to help journalists and intelligence analysts figure out what is real and what is fake. Their work has more than $2 million in funding from the National Science Foundation and Knight Foundation.

Ruben Proano invited to join World Health Organization’s technical advisory group

RIT researcher Rubén Proaño has joined the World Health Organization’s Technical Advisory Group on Market Access for Vaccines. He began his service during the advisory group’s November meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.

Course: IDEA 590/690: Travel Seminar—Rome, Examining Art & Design in the Eternal City

For centuries, Rome’s sites have directly influenced art, design, and architecture.

  • Spend 2 ½ weeks in Rome visiting inspiring sites from Ancient and Medieval Rome, the Renaissance, and the Baroque periods.
  • Learn representational techniques for documenting aspects of place through sketching, collage, writing, and comparative analysis.
  • Explore Rome’s distinct neighborhoods, local cuisine, and cultural sites.
  • Scholarships are available! (more details below)

Student Information Meeting
Friday, December 6th, 12:00PM – 1:00 PM, Zoom

All coursework will take place during your travel to Italy. No pre-requisites. Open to all undergraduate and graduate majors. No Italian language required—program taught in English.

Winter Break Guide

Have a safe and healthy Winter Break! The university will be closed beginning at 2 PM on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, and will reopen on Thursday, January 02, 2025.
