Resume Writing

This workshop will help you build your resume and curriculum vitae (CV). Speakers will discuss what should be included on a resume and a CV and how to format and organize the content. Along with the presentation, you will have the opportunity to work on your resume and CV and get help and advice from RIT staff.

Bring your computer, your current CV or resume, and a sample job description that you are interested in applying to.

 The 14th Annual Power Your Potential Women's Conference

Where: Susan R. Holliday Center in Max Lowenthal Hall

Power Your Potential (PYP) is a half-day women's leadership conference that celebrates the upcoming National Women's History Month in March. The event invites area businesswomen to gain insights from their peers and engage in educational activities geared at helping women succeed.

Across industries and communities, women are navigating monumental change to spark movements and opportunities for future generations. This event gathers communities of innovative and inspiring women who lead boldly, challenge norms, and change their organizations.

RIT leading NASA-funded supermassive black hole research

RIT’s Manuela Campanelli, Distinguished Professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics and director of the Center for Computational Relativity and Gravitation, will lead the collaborative project with help from Yosef Zlochower, professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics. The project will also include researchers from the University of Idaho, Johns Hopkins University, and the Goddard Space Flight Center.

Pictures have been teaching doctors medicine for centuries − a medical illustrator explains how

“Medical illustrators draw what can’t be seen, watch what’s never been done, and tell thousands about it without saying a word.”

For decades, this slogan appeared on the website and printed materials of the Association of Medical Illustrators. Although the association no longer uses this tag line, it’s still an accurate description of the profession.

Graduate Student Anxiety Toolbox Workshop

Do you struggle with anxiety like so many of us? Join this 3-session workshop (3 consecutive weeks) to learn more about the anxiety you experience and develop skills to help you manage it. This Counseling and Psychological Services co-facilitated workshop has 3 modules dedicated to:

1) understanding anxiety, 
2) introducing a method for slowing down and disentangling the experience of anxiety, and
3) developing alternative responses to anxiety. 

By the end of the workshop, you will have your own individualized plan for managing anxiety. Interpreters are available upon request.

Sessions: Fridays, Feb. 2, 9, and 16
