On Campus Service Project: Giving Tuesday's Hunger Project

When: November 19, 2024, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Where: Gordon Field House & Activities Center

Join in on RIT's annual Giving Tuesday event on Tuesday, November 19th. 300 RIT volunteers will be teaming up with US Hunger to package and prepare 30,000 nutritious meals for RIT FoodShare & Rochester's FoodLink. With music booming, lentils flying, and a sea of orange hairnets, volunteers will work together to create a truly dynamic experience...and the by-product? Healthy meals packaged for hungry community members along the way.

Virtual Open House for the AWARE-AI and IRES AI-PROWIL programs

When: December 04, 2024, 3:00 PM
Where: Virtual, Zoom

Please register for our joint virtual open house information session that will provide an overview of both programs.

AWARE-AI Program: Do you have a strong interest in Artificial Intelligence or how it impacts and interfaces with humans? Please consider applying to the AWARE-AI NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) Program at RIT by March 1, 2025. Students admitted to or currently enrolled in eligible RIT PhD and MS on-campus programs in Rochester, NY can apply for a 12-month Traineeship with the AWARE-AI NRT Program. In addition, if eligible, applicants will also be considered for a fellowship. More information is available here. 

IRES AI-PROWIL Program: We invite current RIT Ph.D. students to apply to pursue a funded international research experience at Sweden’s University West focused on AI and Industry 5.0, with specific emphasis on AI-enhanced automation, AI-enhanced automatic control, or AI-enhanced management. Please apply by March 15, 2025. IRES scholars will participate in a two-week pre-phase at RIT, an eight-week international phase at University West in Trollhättan, near Gothenburg, Sweden, and a continuation post-support phase for dissemination of research. To be eligible for the IRES AI-PROWIL program applicants should be US citizens, nationals, or permanent residents. More information will be available here shortly.

Ph.D. student finds joy in carbon composite 3D printing

Sai Sri Nidhi Munaganuru, from Hyderabad, India, anticipates completing her Ph.D. this summer from RIT’s mechanical and industrial engineering program. Her work extends the capability of carbon fiber technology through a new manufacturing approach that could eliminate high production costs, waste, and dependence on skilled labor.
