AWARE-AI: Workshop on Democracy, Justice, and AI

When: September 26, 2023
Where: Golisano Hall, CYB 1710

AWARE-AI Trainees and other graduate students will consider the moral dimensions of human sensing AI in democratic societies, and will cover topics such as: (i) the potential of AI systems to contribute to or perpetuate unjust social schemes (e.g., race or gender-based inequalities) or to pose threats to civil liberties (e.g., violation of privacy); and (ii) AI’s potential as a destabilizing force in civil society (e.g., through the erosion of trust by system behaviors that are not explainable to end users).
