The cold weather at RIT has its hidden upsides, one being the great skiing and snowboarding locations nearby. Here is a list of some of the ski resorts that you’ll find near RIT.
Bristol Mountain | 45 Minutes
Bristol is the most popular location for RIT student, due to its close proximity and affordable ticket prices. Bristol Mountain is located in the Finger Lakes Region and has 35 slopes, offering 1200’ of vertical. This location also features night skiing, with all of the slopes being illuminated.
Swain Resort | 1 Hour
Swain Resort is a fun location for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels, with the slopes ranging from easy to expert. This location offers 30 trails, all of which are completely covered with snow machines. Additionally, the mountain features a tubing park for some added fun.
Brantling Ski Slopes | 1 Hour
Brantling Ski Slopes is a great location for those who are just learning to ski or snowboard. This location features mainly intermediate slopes and has night skiing during the peak season. You can rent all the gear you need at Brantling if you do not have your own.
Kissing Bridge | 1.5 Hours
Kissing Bridge is the largest and nicest location on our list, featuring 36 slopes and 700 acres of terrain. A part of these 36 slopes is seven extreme trails and a large freestyle zone. Though this location receives mostly natural snowfall, all of the trails are covered by snow machines. KissingBbridge also features one of the largest tubing parks in the region.
