Having the opportunity to practice interviewing before you start interviewing with prospective employers is invaluable! Interviewing for a job is a skill. Like all skills, it takes practice. Mock interviews are a great way to gain experience, practice interview skills, receive feedback, and improve performance.
Practice your interviewing skills with company recruiters fall and spring semesters. Sharpen your interviewing skills and practice one-on-one with a company representative from one of our local employers. You will participate in a 20-minute “mock” interview followed by a 10-minute critique from your interviewer.
Limited availability. Please follow the instructions below to select your time. NOTE: The resume you have on Handshake when you sign up for a time slot is the resume that will be given to the interviewer.
Mock Interview Sign-up Instructions
Fall Program: Friday, September 29th - 9am-4pm. (Sign-up closed)
Steps to register for your Mock Interview
- Log into RIT Handshake via the student page of our site. (If you have not logged into RIT Handshake before, you will be prompted to complete your profile). You will need to upload a resume in Handshake in order to sign up for a mock interview time.
- On the top tool bar, click “JOBS”
- Type ‘mock’ into the search field under “filter” and click the category box that says “Match All Employer Preferences”.
- Upload your resume, click Apply, and select a ½ hour timeslot you are available for the mock interview. You are limited to one time slot.
NOTE: If you upload a resume to an incorrect schedule, you will not be able to sign up for a time slot and will need to withdraw your resume to then sign up on the correct schedule (based on major and degree level).
You will receive an email from Handshake with your confirmed interview time.
