Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Program Overview

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program provides students with the capabilities for strategic and critical thinking needed for effective leadership in a global economy.  Through a combination of core course work in the disciplines of management, marketing, operations, economics, statistics, finance, accounting, information systems, and strategy, students gain the breadth and depth of executive business leader knowledge.  Students choose a specialized concentration area, consisting of three courses, along with two open graduate elective courses from across the institute, to make their program unique to their individualized career aspirations.

Cooperative Education & Experiential Education Component

  • An optional cooperative education experience at the graduate level in addition to professional skills workshops further develop the interpersonal skills and career objectives of students.
  • Cooperative education is a tradition at RIT, and the MBA program provides opportunities for students to enrich terms spent in class with terms spent at full-time work. Co-op students are able to work 3-6 months.

Student Skills & Capabilities

MBA core courses are aligned with the values of RIT and the skills that employers demand. The core MBA Foundation Courses provide differentiated coverage of data analytics and business intelligence, management information systems, innovation in products and services, and social responsibility and ethics – delivering foundational knowledge across all areas of business. Unique and customizable concentrations are built upon our university and faculty strengths, provide coverage of product commercialization, digital marketing, entrepreneurship, and management information systems as well as traditional areas of business. We also have concentrations that span across engineering, science and the liberal arts, including quality management, health systems administration, and public policy. With access to all graduate courses across all RIT Colleges, there is also the opportunity to customize a concentration, based on career goals.

Equipment & Facilities

The Sklarsky Center for Business Analytics features the latest technology and equipment, including Bloomberg Terminals and the most advanced analytics software. The REDCOM Active Learning Lab provides the business environment that maximizes the utilization of technology for digital interaction and team networking. Computer labs currently have 60 PC’s hooked up to a network server, including wireless connectivity.
