Biography
Capt Matthew Carpenter is the Recruiting Officer at Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Detachment 538, Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York.. He is responsible for the construction, management, and execution of all unit-recruiting efforts. Additionally, As an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies, he instructs the AS200 course, educating cadets on leadership, followership, and team building.

Prior to his current position, Captain Matthew W. Carpenter was one of 16 Airmen selected from 723 applicants from across the Air Force to establish and serve in the Air Force’s Office of Logistics Innovation, Tesseract for the Headquarters Air Force Directorate of Logistics at the Pentagon, Washington D.C.. As the Chief of Acquisition Strategy, he coordinated contractual pathways, partnerships, and agreements to procure, sustain and scale innovation on behalf of enterprise Airmen. In this capacity, he directly supported projects that emerged from the Air Force’s Spark Tank competition, the “Vice Chief Challenge”, the Logistics Enterprise Aether Sprint, and innovators throughout the Air Force.

Captain Carpenter received his commission in March 2018 through the Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB, AL. He is a core Acquisitions Program Manager with more than 11 years as a prior enlisted logistics Airman. His experience includes base, group, joint, and Headquarters Air Force assignments.
