Environmental Sustainability, Health, and Safety
My major is one of the smaller ones on campus and some people might think that it's a problem. However I love my major for being so small. I'm not saying we shouldn't try to expand, because I think the program here is setting us up for success in the future. What I'm saying is being small gives us more opportunities, which include the people that you meet throughout your college career. The students of ESHS are all very passionate about the work and are eager to help each other with any questions that arise. I'm comfortable with either friends or professors to help, which isn't something I had before college. I'm really happy here in CAST and I'm excited to see what ESHS has to offer in the coming years. For my major specifically, the first class that you have is rather unique. It really makes you think about where your future could go. For the first semester, we had guest speakers from people in our field and we also had the opportunity to visit several related facilities around Rochester. These trips and visitors showed me just how much could be done within this major. The professors are all experienced in various areas as well and are more than happy to share their experiences to help us with any projects we want to start. I'm grateful for CAST because it has provided me with the resources I need to succeed in the future.
