My college experience has been very eventful and rewarding. I have met many amazing people and have learned a great deal from all the classes I have taken so far. My major encompasses many different disciplines of engineering and allows me to not only learn the fundamental principles within that discipline, but also provides a hands on experience in which I can apply what I have learned to real life applications. My program's department has been very helpful with keeping me on track in regards to academics as well as providing insight on what the best course of action would be when determining my concentration and classes. Also, the department has provided notifications and assistance on job availability as well as simply being prepared for professional experiences. CAST and my department have offered many resources that have made my experience at RIT very valuable. I have taken many classes with laboratories as part of the credit and within these classes, I have been able to use a diverse array of equipment and software such as a Hydrostatic Pressure Apparatus, AutoCAD, Concrete Compression Test Machines, and Revit. I am able to apply what I learn in class, as well as in lab with different equipment and softwares, to real life situations and thus ultimately leading to a greater understanding of the subject. Teachers and faculty are also very helpful with any questions or needs you may have and try to make sure that you understand the concepts at hand.
