AI & Copyright for Creatives: Data Poisoning Workshop
Join a 45-minute super-session all about Nightshade and Glaze, two software applications designed to intentionally alter files, code, or online text so that if an AI scraper ingests one of your tiles, that AI training process will become corrupted and will no longer learn using your file.
The session is taught by Adjunct Faculty Rachel DiNunzio ’11 (illustration) — all College of Art and Design students are welcome to join!
The virtual event takes place at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, on Zoom. Free webinar registration
DiNunzio teaches the Copyright and AI for Creatives class through the College of Art and Design's Digital Summer Institute. This course introduces the foundations of copyright law and examines its evolving role within contemporary creative practice and emerging AI technologies. Students explore the historical and legal frameworks of intellectual property, analyze the ethical and practical challenges of AI-generated and AI-assisted work, and develop strategies for protecting creative rights in a rapidly changing technological landscape.
