CHST Research Seminar: The Serotonin Receptor 5-HTR2C Is an Unappreciated Regulator of Alveolar Macrophages

Featuring Marissa Schroeter, 4th-Year Immunology Graduate Student at Rutgers & RIT BMS & Biotechnology Alum

Lung diseases remain a leading cause of death and disability, affecting over half a billion people globally. Despite the critical role of immune cells in maintaining pulmonary function, the factors regulating the initiation and restriction of immune activation in the lung remain largely unknown. My work focuses on understanding how the unique features of alveolar macrophages, the tissue-resident macrophages of the lungs, enable them to maintain pulmonary homeostasis and initiate tissue repair following lung injury.

*Donuts & coffee will be available
**A Zoom link will be provided for those unable to attend the seminar in-person.
