Speaker: Tamar Carroll, Ph.D.
Title: Picturing Equality: The Lambda Network at Kodak and LGBTQ+ Workplace Equality

Abstract: Carroll will present her research on the history and legacy of the Lambda Network at Kodak, the LGBTQ+ employee resource group that formed at the corporation's Rochester headquarters in the early 1990s when most workers were still closeted. Through educational trainings and queer photography, Lambda worked to transform Kodak's culture to be more inclusive and won important policy changes, including domestic partner and adoption benefits. Carroll will discuss her team's efforts to document and preserve Lambda's records, including through Picturing Equality, currently on view at George Eastman Museum.
