RIT photojournalism student documentary shorts are being screened as part of the Rochester Fringe Festival! The faculty-selected program of cinematic stories will screen from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at The Little Theatre (240 East Ave., Rochester, N.Y. 14604). It is a free, non-ticketed event that is open to the public.

Visual storytelling is about empathy, depth, and substance. This program presents cinematic, documentary short films created by photojournalism students from RIT’s School of Photographic Arts and Sciences. Each film brings human-centered awareness to the stories of people, social issues and events from Rochester and beyond. These are the capstone projects for students completing their BFA degrees in photography with a focus on photojournalism.

Featured films are by:

  • Kate Sage ’27 - Veins of the Earth
  • Ollie Butler ’25 - Backwards is the New Forward
  • Emily Hunt ’18 - Getting There
  • Travis La Coss ’24 - We Hurt the Ones We Love

All the films are captioned. A Q-and-A with RIT photojournalism faculty, alumni and filmmakers will follow the screening.
