Treasures from the Collection
For 25 years, the Dyer Arts Center has been a place to celebrate Deaf art, culture, history, and creativity. To celebrate this special milestone, we are bringing together three exhibitions that highlight different parts of Dyer’s story: Treasures from the Collection, Then, Now, Next, and Foundations for Deaf Futures.
Treasures from the Collection takes us through nearly 100 years of Deaf history and highlights just a small selection of the incredible works in the Dyer Arts Center collection. Then, Now, Next looks back at Dyer’s journey and how it has grown from the NTID Art Gallery and Mary E. Switzer Gallery into the Dyer Arts Center we know today. Foundations for Deaf Futures honors three women whose love of art and creativity helped shape the foundation of the Dyer Arts Center.
We hope you’ll join us on October 16 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Dyer Arts Center for a special anniversary reception as we celebrate 25 years of Dyer! The evening will include an opportunity to explore all three exhibitions, connect with the Dyer community, and enjoy a special performance by RIT/NTID students.
We look forward to celebrating this special milestone with you and looking ahead to what’s next for Dyer!
