Modern Languages and Cultures

Throughout the decades, RIT's curriculum has constantly shifted to include classes in modern languages and cultures. Currently, the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures offers ten language programs: Arabic, ASL, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

In 2003, the College of Liberal Arts established the Foreign Language Technology Center, located on the third floor of the George Eastman building, to enhance the learning experience. It includes a faculty workshop, foreign language lounge, two tutorial rooms, student practice and recording room and a 24-station computer lab.
