Mike has been overseeing the wellness initiatives for faculty and staff at RIT since 2012. He has over 25 years of experience in health and well-being and started his career as the strength and conditioning coach for his alma mater the University of Cincinnati, where he coordinated the sports performance program for varsity athletics. He transitioned to worksite wellness and has successfully developed renowned facilities and programs for companies like GE Aircraft Engines, Proctor and Gamble, Ethicon and Ford Motor Co. Mike spent more than 15 years working for large health care systems and in addition to preventive health services, he  opened some of the country’s first hospital-based health and fitness facilities.

James Dickinson

James has been part of the RIT community since 2003. As an RIT student, James earned an associate degree, bachelor's degree, and master’s degree in Health Systems Administration.  James has been  a certified physical fitness specialist through the Cooper’s Institute since 2005, and worked as a  trainer in the RIT Student Wellness program from 2008-2013.  James’ professional background also  includes construction project management.  In his own time, James enjoys weight training and competes in strongman and powerlifting, earning top placing at the regional and state level.  He enjoys coaching others in both sports.  James also enjoys the outdoors, cooking, archery, fringe art, motorcycling; and table-top gaming.

Susan Grace

Sue is a registered dietitian and is a graduate from RIT’s Nutrition Management Program. She also earned a master’s degree in Community Health Education from SUNY Brockport. In 2009 she completed her training to become a Certified Wellness Coach (CWC) through Wellcoaches in alliance with the American College of Sports Medicine, and she also is a Certified Wellness Program Manager (CWPM) through the National Wellness Institute and WebMD. Sue has over 20 years of experience working with consumers, professionals and employees in a wide variety of settings including health care, worksites, community agencies and a local community college. She is currently the bylaws chair for the Genesee Dietetic Association as well as a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Sue received the 2014 New York State Dietetic Association Distinguished Dietitian Award.

Nikki Horton
Health Fitness Trainer

Nikki is a certified athletic trainer and personal trainer. After graduating from SUNY Cortland and working as an athletic trainer in the Buffalo area, she realized her passion was in fitness and wellness. Nikki is fueled by challenges, and enjoys challenging clients in her classes and in one-on-one training.  She enjoys teaching Boot Camp classes, and working with clients of all ages and fitness levels. Nikki is a marathon runner, Buffalo Bills fan, and world traveler. Her favorite destination so far is Galway, Ireland.

Keith O’Connor

Keith graduated from Marymount University (DC) with a bachelor's degree in Health & Fitness Management and Promotion and maintains a personal training certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. Keith played and later coached soccer at Plattsburgh State before transferring to Marymount and incorporates sport-performance elements into one-on-one and class sessions. He places an emphasis on the balance between all fitness components, hard work and fun. Keith currently works with a wide variety of fitness clients and several young athletes in the Rochester and Finger Lakes area. Keith measures his own success by the success of his clients.
