Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I am a Faculty or Staff member. If my RIT-owned work computer breaks, do I need to pay to have it repaired?
A: No. These service plans only cover personal computers and devices. There is no change to repair your RIT owned computers and devices.
Q: I’m a Student. Do I need to buy a plan?
Q: What if I buy a plan in the middle of the academic year?
A: Plan prices are pro-rated, so if you purchase mid-year you won't have to pay the entire year's fee. You will need to renew your plan in August when the new academic year begins.
Q: I purchased a protection plan and I am currently not on campus. Can I ship my computer to the Digital Den for repair?
A: Shipping within the continental USA is available. For additional information, contact us at 585-424-6766 ext 204
Q: What is the difference between Single Incident Service and the other plans?
Single Incident Service is a one-time $65 fee and consultation. Additional services and parts may incur additional fees when you do not have a Service Plan. You will receive the best value
with the Gold
plans, which include many additional services at reduced costs or no cost.
Who is Eligible?
Computer Repair Service Plans are available for purchase by all RIT Students, Faculty, Staff and Retirees
. You must have a valid RIT Computer Account
to be eligible to purchase a plan.
