Marriage/Civil Union


This policy applies to all regular employees.


Policy Statement

Employees who are to be joined in marriage or civil union are entitled to one day's leave with pay. The day may be chosen by the employee but must be at a time consistent with the working schedule of his/her department. Pay for that day will be based on the employee's normal schedule for the day of leave.




  • Employees request/notify supervisor of day off for marriage/civil union


  • Approve/modify request
  • Supervisors enter "Approved Pay" in the "Paycode" column on employee timecard and the regularly scheduled number of hours for the day in the "Amount" column.
