Theft Report from an Unsecured Room in Ellingson Hall

CRIME ALERTThefts reported from unlocked residences

RIT’s Public Safety Department is investigating a theft which was reported yesterday, in Ellingson Hall. The incident occurred on 1/20/16 between 2:00 pm and midnight.  An unknown person reportedly stole a Microsoft smart watch from a student’s unlocked room.

A second theft occurred on 2/1/16 in Ellingson Hall between 7:30 pm and midnight where an unknown person entered a student’s unlocked room and stole a Pandora charm bracelet.

This crime alert serves as an important reminder to always lock your residence and first floor windows to minimize opportunities for crime to occur.  Immediately report suspicious persons/behavior to the Public Safety Department, and always close propped-open outer doors to bolster residential safety.
