Judith Stewart Gohringer is a painter and a mixed-media artist. She is drawn to mid-20th century contemporary art, abstract expressionism, Aboriginal artwork and outsider art. Using acrylics on paper and board, her technique includes purely abstract compositions and stylized representational landscapes.
Judy’s signature bold strokes are charged with energy and invite the viewer into her colorful world. She draws inspiration from contemporary culture, natural abstractions, and her life-long ties to the lakes and forests of Ontario. Camping trips to the Canadian north woods have inspired much of her artwork. She received her formal education from Rochester Institute of Technology and Nazareth College.
