Lorraine Justice, currently a Professor of Industrial Design and Dean Emerita, was appointed dean of the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences (CIAS) from August 2011 to May 2017. Justice has worked in higher education for more than 25 years. She is the author of China's Design Revolution by MIT Press.
Prior to coming to RIT, she served as the director and Dean of the School of Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) from 2004 to 2011. Under her leadership there, the school emerged as one of the top 30 design schools in the world and one of the top four Asian design programs. Prior to leading PolyU’s design school, Justice headed the industrial design program at Georgia Tech for 6 years, and served for 10 years at The Ohio State University as professor of visual communication. A native of Pennsylvania, Justice obtained her BFA from Edinboro University and her master’s in design and Ph.D. in communications from Ohio State.
