Tate Newfield was introduced to glass blowing glass during high school at Punahou Academy in Hawaii. He then attended the glass program at RIT.

In 2018, Newfield was awarded first place at the annual Glass Art Society International Student Exhibition at Murano, Italy. Currently, he practices his art in Pittsburgh, PA.
