Peter’s passion for photography began as he documented daily life in high school before attending RIT. There he developed a further understanding of the underlying technologies of film, optics, composition as well as an appreciation of the history and aesthetics of photography. While at RIT he pursued design through independent study and attended NTID’s 8 week intensive summer Student Interpreter program. He remained a part time interpreter for 14 years.
Today, he remains deeply committed to the success of the RIT community. For many years he has returned to RIT quarterly, photographing its campus, sponsoring research in conjunction with NASA, meeting with professors, supporting students and contributing to Shop One and University Gallery, as exhibition curator of 'Portraits of a Planet - Photographer in Space'. His ASL Manutype Black typeface, begun as a student, is now featured at Shop One.
