Painting, BFA 1982
Lucinda's aim is to bring beauty to people and to express a love for nature. She shares this message through painting on canvas and creating lamp-work art glass beads that she makes into jewelry. "I don't want my beads to look machine made - or even handmade - I want each one to look like it just fell off a plant."
She paints in reverse beginning with darker hues and building lighter, luminous layers on top. Her brushstrokes insinuate motion, building a world vibrating with energy. Seed pods, branches, leaves, berries, blossoms and buds are all common themes in her work - an opulent expression of natural beauty.
Lucinda maintains her studio in downtown Rochester, NY.
