Copper + Gold Gilded Flame Patina 'Herons in Moonlight'
Mary Ellen explores the natural world and captures its subtle beauty through detailed drawings. She prepares a copper plate and applies the imagery with gold leaf in a traditional gilding method. The final piece is accentuated with a flame torch to create a painterly patina. A lacquer finish protects the gold and the patina.
