As a sculptor, lawyer and judge, Alonzo has a unique experience and perspective on the complex concepts of social and environment justice. He attempted to negotiate between these two pursuits and separate the practice of law from the practice of design and sculpture. Yet, a powerful convergence was discovered when one discipline was allowed to inform the other. Through sculpture, a vocabulary of simple house forms, birds, boats, flowers and engraved text, Alonzo gives form to swirling contemporary issues. He honors simplicity and examines the ordinary to engage in a discussion of a world that is often unfair yet beautiful.
