Snowflake Photographic Print
Michael began photographing snowflakes at the request of a student in 2003. He had a love hate relationship with winter but in 2014, it became apparent that MIchael had become obsessed with photographing snowflakes. Each November, he gets really excited to make the next great snowflake photomicrograph.

Peres is an educator, author, artist, and innovator. He has led workshops worldwide and has been publishing most of his career. He wrote a book entitled Laboratory Imaging and Photography published by Routledge and released fall 2016. In 2007, he served as the editor-in-chief of The Focal Encyclopedia of Photography, fourth edition. Some of his professional activities include co-coordinating the R•I•T Images from Science project and the RIT Big Shot project.
Peres has received numerous awards including RIT’s Eisenhart outstanding teaching award and the Schmidt medal from the BioCommunications Association for lifetime achievement in the field of biocommunications. He holds a master's degree in instructional technology and bachelor's degrees in biology and biomedical photographic communications.
