Touchy Feely

$39.99

Touchy/Feely is a framework for exploring diverse emotional responses to human interactions with objects and living things. A Touchy is an interaction. A Feely is an emotional response to the interaction. In the written word, a Feely can be expressed as something you say out loud, something you say to yourself, something commonly said, specific memories and associations, a physiological reaction, or some other emotional descriptor. Because we all bring our own references and memories to our daily interactions, some Feelies are personal. Some Feelies are also more universal because we have shared experiences and cultural associations.

The Touchy/Feely book is a selection of 100 illustrations of different Touchies and their corresponding Feelies, which read like frenetic poetry and represent a diverse range of emotions.

Zeledon hopes that designers use Touchy/Feely as a tool for uncovering the richness of interactions and for developing better empathy skills to inform human-centered, inclusive design. It is also my hope that this book offers a fun way for all to reflect on and celebrate the small interactions around us, promoting empathy in everyday life.
