Commencement Weekend 2016 Information

The Computing Security department is happy to announce that both department delegates, Jared Stroud, BS/MS and Tyler Fornes, MS were selected to address the student body and guests during the Golisano College of Computing’s 2016 commencement ceremony. In addition, Graduate Delegate Tyler Fornes will be giving the graduate speech on behalf of all Institute graduate students during covocation.

The weekend begins with the Academic Convocation Friday, May 20, 2016, at 12 p.m. in the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. The program includes the 2016 Commencement Address given by France Córdova, Ph.D., director of National Science Foundation (NSF). Dr. Destler will address the Class of 2016, Ph.D. candidates will be hooded, delegates and graduates from each college will be introduced and recognized, and degrees will be officially conferred. Degree candidates will process in cap and gown with the faculty and sit together by college.  During the official conferral of degrees, the degree candidates from each college will be recognized as a group.  The Convocation will last about two hours.

The Computing Security Department reception of heavy hors d’oeuvres will be held from 5:00-6:30 in the Bamboo Rooms in the Campus Center.

The Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences commencement ceremony will be held in the Gordon Field House.  Line up begins at 6:30pm in the Student Life Center. The ceremony is 7:30PM-9PM.
