RIT Cyber Defense team wins again at Northeast Regional Championship

Led by Coach Bo Yuan, the RIT Cyber Defense team repeated their victory at the Northeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competion at the University of New Hampshire last weekend, earning the team a second consecutive trip to the national finals in San Antonio, Texas where they will defend their 2013 National Championship.

"This was a tough competition," Yuan explained. "Our team was in second place starting the third day of the competition. There was a simulated disaster overnight; a computer system was taken away from each team. RIT recovered well and clinched first place for the fifth time in seven years." The national competition begins in San Antonio on April 25th and runs through April 27th.

The tournament victor receives the Alamo Cup, which is currently on display in the Golisano College Dean's Office. Coach Yuan is poised to once again square off with cyber defense teams from the nation's top programs saying, "we are looking forward to defending our title.”
