Currently offered at GIS are an accredited Master of Architecture, a Master's in Sustainable Systems, and a Ph.D. in Sustainability, taught by experienced faculty who have come from around the world to be a part of our Architecture or Sustainability departments.
This accredited Master of Architecture program brings a smarter, more resilient approach to architecture and the complexity of designing buildings with people, space, and the environment in mind. Whether you have a background in architecture or are new to the field, RIT’s Master of Architecture will prepare you for a path to professional licensure and job readiness.
Sustainable Systems encompasses a wide range of interdisciplinary studies in sustainability science. Here, you won’t be restricted to one sustainability topic or methodology. You will comprehensively learn and experience the methods that lead to environmental, social, technological, and business success, working one-on-one with an accomplished research faculty member to customize your degree around your interests.
Through our Ph.D. in sustainability, one of only a few in the U.S., you will work side-by-side with a dedicated faculty member, all of whom are avid researchers in diverse areas including biofuels, transportation, energy policy, resource recovery, smart products and systems, and more. Each faculty member sponsors a select number of students on specific research projects, with the scope varying from fundamental science to applied engineering to corporate sustainability applications. Accepted students receive a fully funded education and a stipend to help with living expenses.
