The Center for Remanufacturing and Resource Recovery (C3R®) is an internationally recognized research and development center for the remanufacturing industry. Established in 1991 as a partnership between industry, academia and the government, C3R is dedicated to the growth of the reman industry through the development, testing and deployment of efficient, environmentally-friendly and cost-effective remanufacturing processes.
The Center conducts independent and collaborative research on remanufacturing technologies, design for remanufacturing, logistics and policy, and business operations. The Center partners with a variety industry associations, such as the Remanufacturing Industries Council where it functions as its research and development arm, both nationally and internationally. C3R® has been recognized by state and national organizations for its efforts.
C3R’s® leadership derives from broad working experience and knowledge of the unique requirements of the global remanufacturing industry, the in-depth technical expertise of C3R® researchers and engineers, state-of-the-art applied R&D facilities, and a proven ability to investigate and deliver solutions that resolve immediate reman issues while advancing the long-term goals of sustainable production.
