Nominations Being Accepted for the Outstanding Graduate Woman Achievement Award

The RIT Outstanding Graduate Woman Achievement Award will recognize a current, active, enrolled graduate student, in good academic standing, who has shown exceptional dedication to a specific program, activity, organization, or project at the Rochester Institute of Technology and/or in the greater Rochester community. The graduate student’s commitment to this activity must have resulted in a positive impact on students at RIT or individuals in the Rochester Community. Each department or college is invited to nominate women graduate students at the master's or doctoral level. From these nominations, a selection committee will choose a recipient. The Outstanding Graduate Woman Achievement Award will be presented by the Associate Provost and Dean of the RIT Graduate School. The recipient will receive a cash prize of $500 and an engraved award.

A complete nomination packet will consist of: 

  • A completed nomination form from an RIT faculty or staff member.
  • One letter in support of the nomination emphasizing the accomplishments associated with the criterion of the award. This letter can come from someone internal or external to RIT. Additional letters are welcome but not required.

The deadline for nomination is January 27th. The completed nomination packet should be submitted by the nominating faculty or staff in one PDF file and include the completed nomination form and at least one letter of support. Please use the following to name the file LastnameFirstnameOGWAA and send to gradstudies@rit.edu with OGWAA Nominee in the subject line.

Once the nominations are accepted, nominees will be contacted and asked to complete the nomination process by providing their curriculum vita (CV). The CV should show evidence of exceptional dedication to a specific program, activity, organization, or project at the Rochester Institute of Technology and/or in the greater Rochester community.

The Outstanding Graduate Woman Achievement Award will be presented by the Associate Provost and Dean of the RIT Graduate School. The recipient will receive a cash prize and an engraved award.

The RIT Outstanding Graduate Women Achievement Award is open to all students, regardless of gender.
