Bio
Dr. Rich Belloff was an assistant professor supporting a MHA program in Des Moines, Iowa until early 2017. He assisted in revising the program curriculum and efforts leading to the program receiving specialty accreditation from CAHME. Prior to entering academia, Rich served for over 15 years in a number of senior leadership roles in managed care industry including senior management consultant, president/CEO and executive director.
Dr. Belloff is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a former member of ACHE of Iowa, Board of Directors. He also recently achieved his credential with the Academy for Healthcare Management. Rich is a sought-after speaker in health care and academic circles providing insight on provider sponsored health plans, value-based health care, medical plan inflation, clinical leadership, curriculum mapping for competency achievement, etc. He is an active member of the MS program supporting curriculum development and learning outcomes management.
Dr. Belloff teaches in the areas of health care financial management, strategy formulation and implementation. He has received numerous awards for his teaching and advising roles. Rich’s students enthusiastically comment on his ability to explain complex concepts and how it applies to their interests in health care, the detailed feedback he provides and how responsive he is to questions. One student wrote, “Dr. Belloff brought real world experience into the class room, not only through his use of case studies, but also through his personal career experience.”
