Next Steps

Following your acceptance into one of our programs, you will be enrolled in a community specifically designed for health systems administration students. There you will participate in a brief orientation to the university and program; be provided access to variety of program and career resources; and, have convenient access to an academic advisor.

As you prepare to start your program, here is a brief outline of tools and services RIT will provide you to support your learning. Please review and complete these steps prior to beginning coursework—

Online Learning

Web-based or online learning has been around for decades though this might be your first experience with it. The Health Systems Administration programs are offered via RIT Online who have assembled a number of valuable resources to help you prepare and be successful in this learning environment. Please review these resources and contact your academic advisor if you have any questions or concerns.

RIT Computer Account

RIT provides a single username and password for RIT computer services to all students, whether on or off campus. Students use their RIT account for email, web development, online learning and for the Student Information System (SIS). Recently accepted students will receive a RIT user name and temporary password in the mail. Once you receive this information, follow the directions for changing your password.

Online Learning Courseware

The HSA program uses MyCourses software for the administration and conduct of our online courses. Online learning requires no special software as most classes are conducted through the web browsers. Some classes may require Adobe Flash or Java which are easily downloadable through the Internet. Run the system check to assure your computer requirements are met. Few classes may require special media, this would be communicated to you by your professor.
