RIT Online is an operating unit within the Innovative Learning Institute (ILI). RIT Online is committed to the University’s mission to provide a broad range of career-oriented educational programs with the goal of producing innovative, creative graduates who are well-prepared for their chosen careers in a global society.
We support this mission by:
Building and maintaining a demand based portfolio of online products.
RIT Online identifies sustainable market opportunities in the online space and aligns internal program capacity to fill those market needs which provides an additional diverse revenue stream for RIT.
Marketing online courses and programs.
RIT Online assists the Office of Part-time and Graduate Enrollment Services in creating and disseminating promotional materials which compliment the enrollment of degree seeking students in the traditional programs of RIT. RIT Online develops and disseminates marketing materials for non-degree seeking students. The two offices work cooperatively to ensure a highly integrated approach.
Tracking and reporting online performance.
RIT Online produces regular outcome assessments of growth, retention and attrition in order to measure and improve the online learning outcomes.
Providing a superior co-curricular online student experience.
In the context of the RIT Online Campus (a virtual campus portal), RIT Online experiments with strategies and technologies to better connect online students to RIT and make that experience more engaging. RIT Online provides ongoing support to online programs to help ensure the quality of the online student experience. RIT Online will build a global online network and will seek opportunities to grow enrollments. RIT Online collaborates with Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) to provide support for faculty online course design, student technical support and monitor the virtual concierge strategy.
