Beyond Mars: New Technology to Explore the Cosmos

Side-by-side photos of RIT students and activities with the text See How RIT is Advancing the Exceptional underneath.

Whether life exists outside of Earth has always been a question of interest, and NASA's newest rover on Mars, Perseverance, will help us explore this question better than ever before. The rover will take pictures of the Martian surface, and study the rocks and soils inside a crater believed to have been a huge lake. The rover will also test new technology like a helicopter and potential sample returns, which will further expand our ability to explore other planets and the Universe. Join the students at RIT Centers for Detectors in this news report as we walk you through some fascinating devices on Perseverance and similar technology we are developing at RIT.
