Big Bertha the Giant 3D Printer
'Big Bertha' is the loving moniker given to Engineering House's Giant 3D Printer. Originally designed and built in 2018, it has since undergone continuous revision and adjustment through the years. It is capable of printing parts up to a massive 2'; by 4', which far surpasses any consumer printer available on the market. The printer's 3 axis gantry is manipulated by 8 stepper motors, driven by 2 Arduinos, coordinated by a raspberry pi, which makes it accessible, and allows it to be monitored, from the internet. Bertha has played an important role in some of our projects, and is an extremely useful tool for prototyping and design of larger parts in a timely manner.
